The Paraguayan Association of Tourism Agencies and Companies (ASATUR) carries out for the 16th consecutive year the organization of this annual event that has the support of the National Secretariat of Tourism (SENATUR) and the Binational ITAIPÚ. The largest International Tourism Fair of Paraguay had its opening this morning and is held until Sunday 13 at the Mariscal Convention Center. With 15 consecutive editions, FITPAR became the most important International Tourism Fair of Paraguay and one of the most prestigious in the region. In this way, Asunción becomes once again, in the center and bridge of union for all the national and international tourist offer, the ideal scenario of the tourist trade for the achievement of business and alliances of the sector.They announced that the exhibition will be open for professionals from today in the afternoon and to the general public from tomorrow Saturday to Sunday 13, with free and free access.

They pointed out that the fair seeks to disseminate and promote the tourism sector both nationally and internationally, training its agents and promoting national and international tourist destinations, with emphasis on the positioning of Paraguay on the world tourist route. The impact of it represents an authentic opportunity for the exhibitors of the event, to present to the professional market and the public, its products, services and tourist destinations.They also indicated that the fair aims to provoke a professional, business and public meeting with great active participation of the tourism sector; present the latest techniques and trends in the sector; investigate market potential; generate strategic alliances and promote the purchase and / or sale of products and services, as well as tourist destinations.They recalled that the event is among the major international tourism events of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Declared of National Tourist Interest by the National Secretary of Tourism (SENATUR) and also Declared of National Interest by the Honorable Chamber of Senators of Paraguay.

Events for professionals

They explained that the B2B Meeting Point will be held on the occasion, which is a reference event in the framework of FITPAR 2019 for B2B (Business to Business) meetings that favor business alliances, through work agendas, with appointments preset, according to the explicit interests of the participants. It will take place in a space enabled for this purpose, located in the international pavilion, where exhibitors will be able to meet with executives of travel agencies, hotels and tour operator companies, prior reservation and payment of the space.

The meeting place is the Mariscal de Asunción Convention Center.

The International Tourism Fair of Paraguay (FITPAR) began last Saturday and concludes today. It offers its visitors different attractions, among them, within the Senatur Stand there are tourist informants who offer visitors all the necessary information about destinations in Paraguay 2017, the Dakar Rally also marks presence during the fair, informing about this activity to those present. At the Tourist Róga de Asunción, the official launch of the 13th Edition of the International Tourism Fair of Paraguay “FITPAR 2016” was developed, which in this edition features news such as promotional tour packages, presence brand for exhibitors and a business conference with the participation of international companies. The event has the support of the National Secretariat of Tourism (Senatur) and the Municipality of Asunción. Its objectives are:
  • Disseminate and promote the tourism sector both nationally and internationally.
  • Promote knowledge of national and international tourist destinations to professionals in the sector and to the final consumer.
  • Encourage and support this sector to interrelate in order to reach important trade agreements.
  • To provoke a professional, business and public meeting with the great active participation of the tourism sector.
  • Present the latest techniques and trends in the sector.
  • Investigate market potential.
  • Generate strategic alliances.
  • Promote the purchase and/or sale of products and services as well as tourist destinations.

The FITPAR is an event aimed at all audiences, however, the director especially highlighted the presence of travel agents. “They are the main protagonists because almost 80% of the fair is dedicated to them so that they approach directly to suppliers such as hotels or wholesale operators who arrive at the fair attracted by a particular country that is as an exhibitor. This is how many business channels are opened that are very useful throughout the year, in 2018 they had the visit of more than 350 local tourism professionals who visited the fair and were working on the business conference,” he added.Also, the fair will feature various artistic presentations of music and dance, as well as talks by foreign speakers coming from Argentina and Guatemala to bring new knowledge to the Paraguayan tourism sector, local soccer stars who will be signing autographs, wine tasting, tasting drinks, drinks and exquisite dishes for the public.

FITPAR had several activities parallel to the fair such as the 2nd National Tourism Forum, 2nd Meeting of Students of the Hospitality and Tourism career, 3rd Photo Contest, 3rd Barman Contest, 1st Meeting of Journalists specialized in Tourism of Paraguay, in addition to the classic business rounds.In the framework of the fair, several parallel activities will be carried out, such as: exhibitions, product presentation area, agency pool, dissertations, business conference, recreation area, social events, awards, national and regional caravans, press spaces (transmission live, radio interviews), contests, special guests, tastings.During FITPAR 2019 the public will be able to find the whole range of national and international tourist destinations, inns, gastronomy, and for those who have not yet planned their vacations, an “agency outlet” will even be enabled with special offers for visitors.The FITPAR featured art shows, contests bartending and photography, as well as all tourist options at national and international levels. All the days had additional attractions such as live music, traditional dances, raffles, tastings, entertainment for children and young people, and shows where each department of the country exhibited its particular attractions.

The FITPAR is an incipient space for tourism promotion. In its 16th edition, held over the weekend at the Mariscal Convention Center, in the city of Asunción, its organizers redoubled their commitment to infrastructure, and the province of Misiones participated in the Stand Argentina, seeking to capture more visitors, through the new Air Europa flight, which connects the Paraguayan capital, with the Iguazu Falls airport.FITPAR, which will take place at the Martel de Asunción Convention Center, intends to open one more step to position Paraguay on the calendar and circuit of the major tourist fairs in the region and the world.The organization relies on the presence of representatives of travel agencies, transport companies, hotel and gastronomic industry, leasing companies, official organizations, media and visiting public.
